Mann Takes Home Co-angler Trophy at Lake Norman
Nick Mann of South Point, NC took the co-angler win at the North Carolina Ram Truck Open Series opener held on February 20, 2016 at Lake Norman. Mann brought in 8.60 pounds to secure his win and collect $2000 for his efforts.
Robert “Mack” Lowe of Indian Trail, NC finished in second place on the co-angler side with 8.37 pounds to win $664. Lowe won an additional $270 because he weighed the largest Big Bass of all of the co-anglers in the Big Bass Pot. “It was great day of fishing. I caught a lot of fish, mostly on a crankbait. I had one fish on that would have won it for me, but that’s fishing,” said Lowe.
The third place spot went to Joshua Brooker of Columbus, OH with 8.13 pounds winning $443. “I had a great day. My boater took me to some great spots. We were just fishing fast, mainly using square bills,” said Brooker.
Eddy Morgan of Denver, NC had the 3.83 pound co-angler Big Bass. “We had seen a lot of birds flying around and started throwing a jerkbait in the area. My boater caught a keeper and then I caught the Big Bass,” said Morgan.
